An incomparable blend of traditional farming villages, rushing rivers, rhododendron forests and marvelous views of the awesome Dhaulagiri range and the mighty Annapurna Makes up this moderate Adventure.
Making use of the regular bus between Pokhara and Baglung and getting off in Nayapul, you will trek along the Modi Khola to Birethanti and climb to the Ghorapani pass. Form the lookout of Poon Hill, you will enjoy the panoramic view of the Annapurna Himal and the Dhaulagiri Himal. Then you will descend to Ghandrung, move on to Landrung and to Dhampus, and return to Pokhara. In the villages you pass, you will meet various tribal groups such as the Baun, the Chetri, the Magar, the Gurung, the Takhuri, etc. Since there are lodges and bhattis in these villages, you will be able to enjoy fellowship with the villagers. What is good is that there is no need to worry about altitude sickness. During the night, however, the campsites are sometimes visited by a gang of thieves and you are advised to keep your money in your sleeping bag when you sleep. |
